Background of Ascension

Its main interests lie in a portfolio of long-term property investments in South Africa. The group can be described as a property income fund focused on commercial office buildings and some retail buildings, with a strong leaning towards governmental and empowerment-sensitive tenants. 50% of its buildings are based in Gauteng, with 43% in the Western Cape and 7% in Mpumalanga. Each unit contains one share and one debenture. A Units enjoy first rights to the fund’s net distributable income. The company also redevelops properties to enhance value and create longer-term income and growth.
